China exported 7.8Mt of steel in February 2015, up 62.5% from the same period last year, but was down 24.2% on January 2015 when the country exported 10.29Mt.

Exports totalled 18.08Mt in January and February combined, up by 56.4% when compared with the same period last year.

China imported almost 68Mt of iron ore and concentrates in February 2015, up 10.9% year-on-year. The country’s combined iron ore imports for January and February fell by 0.9% year-on-year to 146.56Mt, according to customs data.

In January iron ore imports dropped 9.4% year-on-year to 78.57Mt.
